Stability estimates for an inverse scattering problem at high frequencies
We consider an inverse scattering problem and its near-field approximation at high frequencies. We first prove, for both problems, Lipschitz stability results for determining the low-frequency component of the potential. Then we show that, in the case of a radial potential supported sufficiently near the boundary, infinite resolution can be achieved from measurements of the near-field operator ...
متن کاملStability Estimates in Inverse Scattering
An algorithm is given for calculating the solution to the 3D inverse scattering problem with noisy discrete fixed energy data. The error estimates for the calculated solution are derived. The methods developed are of general nature and can be used in many applications: in nondestructive evaluation and remote sensing, in geophysical exploration, medical diagnostics and technology.
متن کاملInverse Scattering at Low and Intermediate Frequencies
In this paper, we address the inversion problem in the scattering of elastic waves from scatterers using a probabilistic approach. This work extends that of previous efforts in that it considers a wider set of input measurements and a wider class of possible defects. For a given transducer arrangement, the input measurements involve the coefficient A2. which characterizes scattering at low freq...
متن کاملStability estimates for an inverse problem for the Schrödinger equation at negative energy in two dimensions
We study the inverse problem of determining a real-valued potential in the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation at negative energy from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. It is known that the problem is ill-posed and a stability estimate of logarithmic type holds. In this paper we prove three new stability estimates. The main feature of the rst one is that the stability increases exponentially with ...
متن کاملNew Global Stability Estimates for Monochromatic Inverse Acoustic Scattering
We give new global stability estimates for monochromatic inverse acoustic scattering. These estimates essentially improve estimates of [P. Hähner, T. Hohage, SIAM J. Math. Anal., 33(3), 2001, 670-685] and can be considered as a solution of an open problem formulated in the aforementioned work.
